Hi! I'm Emerson!
Born, raised, and located in Chicago, IL, I am currently in my first year of law school. Academically, I'm interested in sociolinguistic carceral history, carceral sensory politics, and alternatives to incarceration. Industry-wise, I'm interested in public defense, specifically post-conviction appeals and mitigation, and have extensive experience working on federal-level cases and with clients facing long sentences.

I studied philosophy at Northeastern University, and, more recently, sociolinguistic carceral history at Trinity College Dublin (stay tuned for my article in History Ireland later this year!). In a past life, I had mini-careers in wildlife education and electoral politics. I have been recognized nationally for my political digital strategy work.

When I'm not in school or working, you can probably find me at a local concert, hanging out with my two cats, or planning my next travel itinerary (I've lived in three countries and been to four continents!).
